The greatest honor a player can receive in our program is to be asked to serve the team as a Team Captain.  We have high expectations of our team captains to serve as leaders within their peer group and to help make decisions for the best of the organization.

Many times, team captains are liasons between coaches and players; but we expect our coaches to be approachable and often feel like our direct coaching style does not need that role; however we often have to make decisions and it would be unreasonable to discuss with all team members; so our captains take that responsibility. 

We also expect our captains to take responsibility for recruiting and roster creation through captain calls which are used to ensure we are recruiting the right players. 

We generally include our captains on all aspects of team formation, roster and lineup decision making and role/responsibilities; knowing that players offer a view and information that coaches may miss.
