So everyone would change something about the wonderful game of Fastpitch Softball, here is my list of things that i would change if I was "the all powerful"...

The Hit By Pitch

So not really the hit by pitch but the fact that in fastpitch, if a ball hits the ground first, then hits the batter it is STILL a HBP instead of just a ball as it is in baseball.  this is just dumb, I think a simple rule change is needed for this, but here is my bigger plan for HBP.

Why is it AUTOMATICALLY that the batter gets 1B, how about we let the coach choose what they want to achieve.  The options are simply, you can either have it be a BALL or the batter gets 1B.  This would  allow coaches to keep their best hitters at the plate and in reality also mean teams can't throw the 1 pitch intentional walk. 

Throwing the Ball Around on a Strikeout (in timed games)

Should be illegal, penalty is a ball on the next batter for EVERY single throw that happens when the team is throwing the ball around on the strikeout.  It should go back to the pitcher only. 

Timed Games

Should be minimum of 90 mins, not 70; good teams can get full games in within 80 mins so use a 90 min time limit and instead keep yourself on time by adding on a ...

More Aggressive Run Up Rule

10 After 3
8 After 4
6 After 5

Mandatory IF/OF

Give all teams an 7 min IF/OF session on their game field before all games so players get more experience playing defensively.  Lets face it, there can be many games where a OF will not see a ball from full distance game type practice situation; if we focused more time on using the field to practice between games; we'll develop better players. 

This can be fixed by reserving a field for practice at every tournament event.
